The Amsterdam Wine Festival is preparing for its spring edition, set to take place from March 26 to March 29, 2026, at the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam. Organizers report that ticket sales for Saturday are already at 90% capacity, with only a limited number of regular tickets remaining before prices increase. The festival has become a key event for wine enthusiasts in the Netherlands and across Europe, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
This year’s program highlights a unique feature: a recreation of the renowned Salentein wine cellar from Argentina’s Uco Valley. The original cellar, located eight meters underground and designed in the shape of a cross, is known as the “Cathedral of Wine.” For the festival, organizers have designed an immersive space inspired by this architectural icon, aiming to bring the atmosphere of Mendoza to Amsterdam. Visitors will be able to experience this setting while sampling wines from around the world.
Among the international wineries featured this year are Saint Clair from New Zealand and Villion Wines from South Africa. Saint Clair is recognized for its focus on terroir expression and its Pioneer Block series, which showcases the distinct characteristics of specific vineyard parcels in Marlborough. While best known for Sauvignon Blanc, Saint Clair will also present Pinot Noir and Chardonnay selections at the festival.
Villion Wines, brought to Amsterdam by VINVIN Wines, represents South Africa’s boutique wine scene. Winemaker Kobshie Villion emphasizes minimal intervention and respect for nature in his approach. Grapes are hand-selected to achieve a balance between fruit intensity and oak integration. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to taste these wines and learn about the philosophy behind their production.
Each ticket includes entry to the festival and an Amsterdam Wine Festival glass for guests to take home. Organizers encourage early purchase as ticket prices will rise once regular tickets sell out. The event promises a wide range of tastings, educational sessions, and opportunities to meet winemakers from various regions.
The Amsterdam Wine Festival continues to grow in popularity, reflecting increased interest in wine culture across Europe. With its combination of international wineries, themed experiences, and educational programming, it aims to offer both casual visitors and industry professionals a comprehensive look at current trends in wine production and appreciation.
