Jordan Vineyard & Winery in Sonoma County has announced its 2025 art installation, Four-Legged Friends, created by the art studio Ink Dwell. The artwork is displayed on four concrete egg fermenters, which are part of the winery's chardonnay program. Using soft pastel chalk and washable tempera paint, the installation honors the four-legged animals that inhabit the 1,200-acre Jordan Estate. Over 75% of the estate is preserved as natural habitat, home to diverse wildlife such as deer, coyotes, birds, bees, and butterflies.
This marks the third year of Jordan's annual art series, which highlights the estate's biodiversity and commitment to conservation. Previous installations included Pollinator Pairings in 2024 and a honeybee-themed project in 2023. These exhibits aim to inspire visitors and members to appreciate the wildlife thriving on the property.
Ink Dwell, led by founder and science illustrator Jane Kim, is known for creating nature-inspired art. Kim has worked on projects like the Wall of Birds at The Cornell Lab of Ornithology and pieces for institutions such as the National Aquarium. She expressed her excitement about collaborating with Jordan again, stating that the installation reflects the estate's ecosystem and dedication to environmental conservation.
John Jordan, CEO of Jordan Vineyard & Winery, shared his enthusiasm for the new exhibit. He noted that visitors this spring and summer will experience a vibrant tribute to the estate's wildlife. He emphasized that the annual art installations provide a unique way to connect with the property while showcasing the winery's commitment to sustainability and biodiversity.
Jordan Vineyard & Winery's efforts extend beyond its estate. The winery recently received the 2025 California Green Medal Community Award. This honor recognizes its environmental practices and contributions to the community, employees, and neighbors. The award highlights Jordan's innovative approach to sustainability and its role in fostering positive relationships.
The Four-Legged Friends installation continues Jordan's tradition of blending art, nature, and winemaking. It offers visitors an opportunity to engage with the estate's rich biodiversity while reinforcing the winery's dedication to preserving the environment.
