The 23rd edition of Effervescents du Monde, an international competition dedicated to sparkling wines, took place from November 18 to 21, 2025, in Burgundy, France. This annual event brought together more than 80 expert judges from 15 countries to evaluate sparkling wines from around the world. Over four days, the panel assessed 393 samples under strict quality standards and optimal tasting conditions.
The competition awarded a total of 129 medals this year, including 69 gold and 60 silver. These medals are recognized as a reliable selection criterion in the global wine industry. The diversity and quality of the entries were notable, with wines representing both established and emerging regions.
Among the top ten sparkling wines recognized in the 2025 edition were entries from Brazil, Moldova, France, Spain, and Belgium. Brazil’s Vinícola Salton S/A received high marks for its Saltón - Ouro Moscatel Espumante Branco. Moldova was represented by Maurt Srl’s Aurelius - Vino de hielo espumoso 2020 and Rosagro Prim Srl’s Vertiwine - Pinot Blanc Spumant Alb Brut 2024. France had several winners, including Henri Ehrhart’s Crémant d'Alsace AOC - Brut Excellence and Charles de Fère’s Crémant du Jura AOC - Grands Crêts Rosé Brut.
Spain’s Raventos Codorniu was recognized for its Cava - Codorniu Anna, while Belgium’s Domaine du Chant d'Éole received honors for its VMQ - Chant d'Éole - Blanc de Blancs Brut. Other notable French producers included CFGV for its VMQ - Charles Volner - Blanc de Blancs Brut and Patriarche Père & Fils for its Chardonnay Brut. Amitié - Espumantes e Vinhos from Brazil also made the list with its Amitié Moscatel Premium.
Moldova continued to show its growing presence in the sparkling wine sector with Radacini Srl’s Radacini - Viorica - Spumant Brut Alb among the top selections. The results highlight a trend toward greater international diversity in sparkling wine production and recognition.
Effervescents du Monde is known for its rigorous judging process, which goes beyond standard regulations to ensure fairness and accuracy. The competition has become a reference point for producers seeking international recognition and for consumers looking for quality sparkling wines.
