Le Monde’s Wines Earn Up to 95 Points in 2024, Marking a Banner Year for Friuli Producer

Le Monde, a winery based in Prata di Pordenone in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region of Italy, has experienced a year marked by significant recognition on both national and international levels. Over the past twelve months, several of its wines have received major awards from respected critics and industry guides, highlighting the winery’s ongoing commitment to quality and its connection to the local territory.

The Pinot Bianco 2024 stands out as Le Monde’s most celebrated wine this year. It was awarded the Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso for 2026, one of Italy’s most prestigious wine honors. This marks the eleventh time that Le Monde’s Pinot Bianco has received this award, reinforcing its status as a key product for the winery. The wine also earned a place in Winemag’s Top 100 Best Italian Wines for 2025 with a score of 89 points. American wine critic Antonio Galloni, founder of Vinous, gave it the same score and also awarded 90 points each to Le Monde’s Pinot Grigio DOC Friuli 2024 and Ribolla Gialla IGT Venezia Giulia 2024.

The “Le Icone” Collection, which includes Inaco DOC Friuli 2020, Alma DOC Friuli 2022, Pratum DOC Friuli 2022, and .73 Merlot DOC Friuli 2020, has also drawn attention from critics. Inaco DOC Friuli 2020 received 90 points from American critic James Suckling, 92 points from the Falstaff Friuli Trophy, and 93 points in Winemag’s Top 100 Best Italian Wines. Alma DOC Friuli 2022 achieved similar results with 92 points from Suckling, 93 from Falstaff, and another 92 from Winemag. Pratum DOC Friuli 2022 and .73 Merlot DOC Friuli 2020 were each awarded 93 points by Suckling and an impressive 95 points by Winemag—among the highest scores given to Le Monde this year.

Chardonnay 2024 also contributed to Le Monde’s list of achievements. After previously earning the Tre Bicchieri in 2019, this vintage received the Quality–Price Award in Gambero Rosso’s Berebene 2026 Guide. This guide focuses on wines that offer strong value for money, underlining Le Monde’s aim to make high-quality wines accessible to a broader audience.

These awards reflect not only the technical skill of Le Monde’s winemaking team but also their dedication to sustainable practices and respect for tradition. The winery emphasizes working in harmony with nature and producing wines that express both regional identity and balance.

The recognition comes at a time when Italian wines are facing increased competition on global markets. For Le Monde, these accolades serve as confirmation of its approach and provide momentum for future projects. The team at Le Monde credits their success to collective effort and a shared vision focused on quality and authenticity.

Industry observers note that such consistent recognition from both Italian and international critics helps strengthen the reputation of Friulian wines worldwide. As Le Monde continues to receive high marks from respected guides and critics, it reinforces its position as an ambassador for its region and for Italian winemaking more broadly.

The recent awards were announced throughout the year at various industry events and through publications such as Gambero Rosso, Winemag, Vinous, Falstaff, and James Suckling’s annual reviews. These recognitions are expected to boost interest in Le Monde’s wines among importers, retailers, and consumers in key markets including Europe and North America.

Le Monde’s leadership has stated that while these achievements are important milestones, they view them as part of an ongoing journey rather than a final destination. The winery plans to continue investing in both vineyard management and cellar practices to maintain high standards in future vintages.
