Cointreau has launched a new summer campaign called “Sip & Chill,” offering a collection of light cocktails designed for relaxed enjoyment during the hottest months of the year. The French orange liqueur brand is focusing on low-alcohol drinks, following the growing trend of low-ABV (alcohol by volume) cocktails. The initiative aims to provide consumers with refreshing options that deliver full flavor without excess alcohol, making them ideal for long afternoons and social gatherings.
The “Sip & Chill” collection features three signature cocktails, each highlighting Cointreau’s signature balance of sweet and bitter orange notes. The first, the Grilled Tomato Margarita, puts a smoky twist on the classic Margarita by incorporating grilled tomato juice and a spiced salt rim. This cocktail is intended for outdoor meals and barbecues, where the flavors of summer are at their peak. The recipe calls for 30 ml of Cointreau L’Unique, 60 ml of blanco tequila, 15 ml of fresh lime juice, and 30 ml of grilled tomato juice, shaken with ice and served over more ice in a glass rimmed with chili powder and salt.
Another option in the lineup is the Aegean Spritz, which combines Mediterranean flavors with sparkling refreshment. This drink blends 10 ml of Cointreau L’Unique with 25 ml of apricot and fig syrup, 100 ml of apricot soda, and 15 ml of Metaxa, a Greek spirit. Served over ice and optionally garnished with a slice of fig, the Aegean Spritz is designed for those seeking something different yet easy to drink.
The third cocktail in the series is the Mimberry, which uses kombucha as its base for a floral and fruity profile with a fermented twist. The recipe includes 25 ml of Cointreau L’Unique, 20 ml of lemon juice, and 90 ml of raspberry-ginger kombucha. Served over ice and garnished with fresh raspberries, this cocktail caters to those looking for an alternative to traditional mixed drinks.
Cointreau’s “Sip & Chill” campaign reflects changing consumer preferences toward lighter beverages that can be enjoyed throughout the day without overwhelming the palate or leading to overindulgence.
