The Amsterdam Wine Festival is set to take place from September 26 to 29, 2024, in the iconic Gashouder of Amsterdam. This event, dedicated to the Northern Hemisphere's harvest festivals, will provide attendees with the opportunity to taste over 300 different wines. Beyond wine tasting, participants can attend various workshops and tastings, partake in wine-themed games, and enjoy live music and DJs late into the night.

Attendees will have the chance to explore and taste a vast array of wines celebrating the Northern Hemisphere's harvest. Tastings and masterclasses will be organized to offer deeper insights into different wine regions. Each workshop will include the tasting of four wines, allowing attendees to develop a better appreciation for their favorite varieties.

Gastronomy will play a central role at the festival, with over 50 different dishes available to complement the wines. The culinary offerings will ensure a comprehensive gastronomic experience for all attendees, showcasing the synergy between food and wine.

Music will be a highlight throughout the festival. During the day, live bands will perform, creating a vibrant atmosphere, while at night, DJs will take over, keeping the energy high and the festivities lively.

For those looking to test their wine knowledge, there will be quizzes focused on Southern Hemisphere wines, with the chance to win a bottle of wine. Additionally, the traditional grape stomping championship will take place, where participants can compete for the title of Dutch champion in this classic activity.

The festival will be held across multiple locations within the Gashouder, each designated for specific purposes. The Gashouder, a renowned space spanning 2538 square meters, will host the majority of the festival. Exclusive workshops will be conducted in the Transformatorhuis, a space designed by Piet Hein Eek with original factory details, and the Leidinghuis, also designed by Piet Hein Eek. The Klönneplein, situated between the Gashouder and the Transformatorhuis, will house the food area, where attendees can enjoy delectable dishes in an outdoor setting.

The festival is generating significant excitement, and tickets for the initial days are already selling out. Winemakers, from small producers to well-known names, will be present with their finest wines. There will be opportunities to taste rare grape varieties and enjoy unique culinary combinations presented by chefs in food trucks.

Several notable masterclasses will be featured, including an exploration of Bulgaria's wine tradition by BEZE wines, highlighting a blend of indigenous and international grape varieties. Italy's rich wine tradition and diverse wines will be presented by Onwine. Spain will be represented by the renowned Ramón Bilbao wines, while France will offer an in-depth immersion into its wine culture and regions. The Netherlands, though less well-known, will showcase its increasingly recognized wines. Finally, the wine traditions of Croatia and Slovenia, known for their history and diverse terroirs, will also be explored.

The Amsterdam Wine Festival promises to be a memorable celebration of wine culture, providing attendees with an educational and enjoyable experience in the heart of Amsterdam. With a blend of wine tasting, culinary delights, music, and engaging activities, the festival is set to be a must-attend event for wine enthusiasts and novices alike.
