The international wine competition Grenaches du Monde will return to its roots in 2025, with its 13th edition set to take place in Aragon, Spain, nine years after the event was first held in this historic region. Known for its itinerant nature, the competition previously made stops in New York in 2023 and Paris in 2024. The return to Aragon highlights the strong connection between the region and the iconic Grenache grape variety.

Designed to appeal to professional wine tasters from around the world, Grenaches du Monde is recognized as a dynamic event that showcases the versatility of Grenache wines. The competition provides a platform for producers to present their wines in a variety of styles, including red, rosé, white, sweet, rancio, and sparkling, offering a comprehensive view of what Grenache has to offer.

The event is not only a competition but also a celebration of the culture, craftsmanship, and passion behind Grenache wine production. It has become a key date on the calendar for wine professionals, bringing together winemakers, sommeliers, importers, and journalists for two days of tastings and networking.

The 2025 edition will be hosted by the Cariñena appellation, in partnership with the cities of Zaragoza and Cariñena. The latter, recently named "European Wine City 2025," aims to deliver an exceptional experience for participants. The prestigious title highlights the region's historical importance in winemaking and its ongoing contributions to promoting European wine culture.

Approximately 80 international wine experts will form the jury tasked with evaluating the submitted Grenache wines. The competition will take place on May 5 and 6 in Cariñena, with the goal of selecting the best expressions of the grape from various regions around the world.

Registrations for the competition are now open on the official website, www.grenachesdumonde.com, inviting producers to submit their wines and take part in this celebrated event dedicated to one of the world's most emblematic grape varieties.
