Courmayeur will host a self-supported cycling tour around Mont Blanc

Courmayeur, in Italy’s Aosta Valley, will host the start and finish of the second Randonnée du Mont Blanc on July 25, as organizers position the ride as an unsupported cycling journey around Europe’s highest peak rather than a race.

The event, organized by EPICDAYS.CC, sends riders clockwise around Mont Blanc through Italy, France and Switzerland. Participants can choose between a 330-kilometer route with about 9,000 meters of climbing and a shorter 100-kilometer “Express” option with 3,000 meters of elevation gain. Both routes will be offered in road and off-road formats, including options for gravel and mountain bikes.

The format reflects a growing part of cycling tourism that favors long-distance adventure over competition. Organizers said there will be no rankings and no official timing, and riders will manage their own food, lodging and logistics along the way. EPICDAYS.CC said it will provide a rider guide with route details, travel information and accommodation suggestions.

The longer route crosses several well-known Alpine roads and passes, including the Little St. Bernard Pass, Col du Roselend, Les Saisies, Megève, Chamonix, Col de la Forclaz, Martigny and the Great St. Bernard Pass before returning to Courmayeur. The shorter route remains in Italy and France.

For Courmayeur, the event adds another summer draw tied to outdoor travel and mountain culture. Organizers said activities will begin on July 24 with a welcome party in town, along with talks, live music and events aimed at riders and visitors.

EPICDAYS.CC said friends and family will be able to follow participants through Komoot’s live-tracking system. Finishers will receive an official diploma handed out by Andy Serighelli, founder of the event and of EPICDAYS.CC.

According to the company, the first edition drew riders who completed the full circuit on very different schedules, from less than 24 hours for the fastest participant to five days for the last finishers. That range is central to the event’s identity, which emphasizes personal pace and shared experience over results.

Registration is open on the organizer’s website. EPICDAYS.CC said the current entry fee is €98 for a limited time.

The company was founded in Milan in 2024 by Serighelli, a music producer who moved into cycling events. With the Mont Blanc ride, it is targeting travelers drawn to endurance sports, cross-border itineraries and self-guided experiences in one of the Alps’ best-known landscapes.
