Tedeschi, a historic winery based in Pedemonte di Valpolicella, has been selected to participate in OperaWine 2026. The event will take place on April 11 in Verona and serves as the official opening of Vinitaly, one of the most important wine fairs in Italy. OperaWine is an invitation-only event organized by Wine Spectator magazine, which brings together top Italian wine producers for a showcase attended by international press, wine professionals, and buyers.

This year, Wine Spectator editors Alison Napjus and Bruce Sanderson have chosen 150 producers to participate in OperaWine. Tedeschi will be featured among the 69 wineries in the “Classic” category. This category highlights producers recognized as leaders in their regions with a consistent record of quality. The other two categories at the event are “Legacy Icons” and “New Voices,” each representing different aspects of Italian winemaking excellence.

Tedeschi’s inclusion in OperaWine is seen as recognition of its ongoing efforts to promote and enhance the Valpolicella region. The winery is known for its commitment to stylistic consistency, research, and a strong connection to local terroir. During the event, Tedeschi will present its Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva 2011. This wine is considered one of the most iconic labels from the estate and represents the concept of cru in Valpolicella. It is also regarded as a wine that showcases the diversity of Tedeschi’s vineyards.

OperaWine is widely regarded as one of the most authoritative international events for Italian wine. It provides a platform for producers to present their wines to an audience that includes journalists, industry professionals, and buyers from around the world. For Tedeschi, participation in this event underscores its role as a leading producer in Valpolicella and highlights its approach to combining tradition with contemporary winemaking.

The selection process for OperaWine involves careful evaluation by Wine Spectator’s editorial team, who consider factors such as regional leadership and quality track record. Tedeschi’s presence at the event reflects its longstanding reputation and its focus on expressing the unique characteristics of Valpolicella through its wines.

Vinitaly and OperaWine are held annually in Verona, attracting thousands of visitors from across the globe. The events serve as important meeting points for those involved in the wine industry and offer opportunities for networking, tasting, and learning about new trends in Italian wine production. Tedeschi’s participation this year further cements its status among Italy’s top wineries and brings additional attention to the wines of Valpolicella on an international stage.
