Frank Schindler to Lead ProWein Düsseldorf as Director and Project Manager Starting in 2025

Frank Schindler will assume the role of Director and project manager for ProWein Düsseldorf, the world’s leading trade fair for wines and spirits, starting October 15, 2025. This appointment follows the event’s recent repositioning in September and marks a significant step in its ongoing development. Schindler, 50, will lead the Düsseldorf-based project team and oversee not only ProWein Düsseldorf and its ProSpirits segment but also six international ProWein World trade fairs across Asia and South America.

Schindler’s responsibilities will include global strategic positioning and international marketing for the ProWein brand. He will operate within the division led by Marius Berlemann, Chief Operating Officer of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH, and report directly to Michael Degen, Executive Director Trade Fairs.

Marius Berlemann expressed confidence in Schindler’s appointment, citing his extensive connections in the international wine and spirits industry. Berlemann described Schindler as bringing both energy and creative drive to the role at a time when ProWein is undergoing strategic realignment and brand development.

Frank Schindler brings a strong background in the wine sector to his new position. He previously served as Managing Director at Esterhazy winery in Austria’s Burgenland region and at VINUM Weinhandel GmbH in South Tyrol. His experience spans international management, strategic planning, and industry networking. Schindler holds academic credentials from WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) and a Master’s degree in International Wine Marketing.
