The board of directors at Vinarchy, a global wine business, has announced the appointment of Danny Celoni as its new Chief Executive Officer. Celoni brings more than 25 years of experience in the consumer goods and beverage industries. He spent 18 years at Diageo, holding several executive roles in the Asia-Pacific region, and previously served as executive director for PepsiCo in Australia and New Zealand. Most recently, he was CEO of Carlton and United Breweries (CUB), part of the Asahi Group, which produces some of the most recognized beverage brands in the region.
Vinarchy was established in 2025 following the merger of Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard Winemakers. The company is now one of the largest wine-focused businesses in the world, with annual net sales exceeding 1.5 billion Australian dollars. Vinarchy operates exclusively in the wine sector, managing a portfolio of leading brands and distributing its products globally. The company employs more than 1,600 people across multiple countries.
Celoni expressed his enthusiasm about joining Vinarchy, stating that he feels honored to take on this unique opportunity. He believes Vinarchy is well positioned to play a leading role in the future growth and expansion of the wine industry. According to Celoni, the company’s strong tradition, established brands, capabilities, and commitment to customers and consumers provide an exceptional platform for driving category growth, differentiated innovation, and value creation. He looks forward to working with the board, management team, employees, clients, and partners worldwide as Vinarchy enters its next phase of growth.
Ben Clarke, who currently serves as Executive Chairman, will transition to Non-Executive Chairman when Celoni assumes his new role as CEO in August 2025. Clarke welcomed Celoni on behalf of the board and described him as a leader with a growth mindset and a proven track record in driving transformational growth and leadership within the wine sector through strong client relationships. Clarke said that Celoni is the right person to lead Vinarchy as it seizes new opportunities as a global wine leader.
Vinarchy’s portfolio includes three major international brands: Campo Viejo, recognized as the world’s number one Rioja wine brand; Hardys, ranked as the second largest Australian wine brand globally; and Jacob’s Creek, which is among the top ten most valued wine brands worldwide. The company’s roots trace back to pioneering vineyards established by Johann Gramp and Thomas Hardy in the 1840s and 1850s.
Today, Vinarchy produces wines in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and South Africa. Its global sourcing network also covers premium wine regions in Italy, Argentina, France, the United States, and Chile. The company’s name combines “Vin,” meaning wine in French, with “Archy,” meaning leadership in ancient Greek—a reflection of its ambition to lead in the global wine industry.
Vinarchy continues to focus on quality wines that cater to diverse tastes and occasions while sharing each brand’s unique story with consumers around the world. With Celoni at the helm starting August 2025, industry observers will be watching closely as Vinarchy pursues its strategy for innovation and international expansion.
