RIEDEL, the German glassmaker known for its wine stems and decanters, is marking its 270th year with a new product line that the company says is meant to bring design and drinking closer together.

The release, sent by Vinetur on Monday, says the collection, called Heart of Glass, is intended to show how glassware can shape the way people experience wine and cocktails. The company describes it as part of a long effort to combine function and form, a message that has become central to Riedel’s branding as it competes in the premium tableware market.

The announcement comes as restaurants and terraces fill up with warmer weather and longer evenings, a setting the company used to frame the launch. Riedel said the new line was developed for consumers who want glassware that is not only decorative but also designed for use. The company tied the release to its history of working with major beverage brands and to its broader claim that the right glass can influence aroma, texture and taste.

The press materials say Heart of Glass is being introduced in 2026 and will be available in connection with publication dates listed for June 30 in Europe and Sept. 1 in the United States. The release also includes references to pages in a book or catalog about Riedel’s design philosophy, along with images of glasses associated with Coca-Cola and Dom Pérignon, suggesting the company is positioning the line within a wider story about collaborations across beverage categories.

Riedel has spent decades promoting the idea that different drinks call for different vessels, a view that has helped it build a strong presence among sommeliers, restaurants and home consumers. The company’s latest message continues that approach by linking craftsmanship, sensory experience and brand partnerships. In the release, it says Heart of Glass reflects “an enthralling look at 270 years of RIEDEL glassmaking mastery.”

The email was sent by Tatiana von Mallinckrodt, identified as head of public relations for Gestalten Verlag GmbH & Co. KG in Berlin. The message said requests for review copies or PDFs should be directed to her at [email protected]. It also included standard subscription and contact information for Gestalten, which appears to be handling distribution of the material.

The release did not provide pricing or retail details for Heart of Glass, but it made clear that the company sees the line as part of a broader effort to reach readers and consumers who care about both design and drinking.
