Muscats du Monde competition in France honors top muscat wines from twelve countries at 25th annual event

The 25th edition of the Muscats du Monde International Competition took place on July 10, 2025, in Burgundy, France. This annual event brought together wines from 12 countries, highlighting the diversity and quality of muscat wines worldwide. Over the course of one day, a panel of 55 international experts evaluated 106 still and sparkling wines made from various muscat grape varieties.

The competition is known for its strict quality standards and optimal tasting conditions. This year, judges awarded a total of 35 medals, including 20 gold and 15 silver. These medals are recognized as a reliable benchmark for consumers and professionals seeking outstanding muscat wines.

Among the top performers in the 2025 edition were producers from France, Portugal, Italy, Australia, and South Africa. The list of the best muscats included Maison Pettermann’s Muscat Vieilles Vignes 2024 from Alsace, Adega Cooperativa De Palmela’s Moscatel de Setubal Doc - 10 Anos from Portugal, Domaine Arena’s Muscatellu 2022 from France, and Cantine Sociale di Dolianova’s Moscato di Sardegna Doc - Passito 2021 from Italy.

Australia was represented by Morris Wines with both their Classic Muscat and Old Premium Rare Muscat receiving recognition. South Africa’s Groot Constantia Wine Estate also made the top list with their Grand Constance 2021. Other notable winners included Casa Ermelinda Freitas from Portugal with their Dona Ermelinda 2013 and Camolas & Matos’ Moscatel Roxo de Setubal Do - Camolas - Reserva - Barrel Aged 2019.

The competition continues to serve as a global reference for muscat wines, offering visibility to both established and emerging producers.
