Yantai to host second OMET World Summit on responsible wine tourism in 2025

The second OMET World Summit on Responsible Wine Tourism is set to take place in Yantai, China, from July 2 to July 5, 2025. The event will bring together representatives from the wine industry across more than 20 countries, including international destination leaders, business executives, university scholars, winery owners and managers, global tour operators, and prominent media outlets. The summit aims to position Yantai as a leading wine tourism destination in the global market.

Yantai has received international recognition for its quality of life, having been awarded the United Nations International Award for Livable Communities. It is also one of China’s first major tourist cities and has recently achieved a GDP exceeding one trillion yuan. Known as a global wine tourism destination and the brandy capital of China, Yantai will be officially certified by OMET as a responsible, sustainable, and satisfying wine tourism destination during the summit.

The city’s unique geography and rich wine resources have attracted attention from wine enthusiasts worldwide. Yantai’s open atmosphere and cultural heritage make it an appealing host for this international event. Organizers are inviting participants to experience the city’s blend of mountain and sea landscapes alongside its vibrant wine culture.

The OMET Summits are known for integrating three key areas of interest for businesses, public organizations, consumers, and professionals: brand promotion through B2C exhibitions and media coverage; commercialization via B2B business workshops; and research and education through academic conferences. The event will also showcase Lu cuisine, offering attendees opportunities to connect with global leaders in wine, gastronomy, and tourism.

Yantai’s role as host city highlights its ambition to become a benchmark for responsible wine tourism in Asia. The summit is expected to draw significant international attention to the region’s potential for wine-related travel and business. Organizers emphasize that visitors will have the chance to explore the city’s coastal charm while discovering new possibilities in wine tourism.

With preparations underway, Yantai is extending an invitation to industry professionals and enthusiasts alike to join this major event. The summit promises a comprehensive program that combines business networking, cultural exchange, and educational opportunities in one of Asia’s most dynamic wine regions.
