France will host the 25th edition of Muscats du Monde on July 9 and 10, 2025, bringing together the largest international gathering of Muscat wines to date. The event will take place in Frontignan, a town in the Languedoc-Roussillon region known for its long tradition of producing Muscat wines. Organizers have announced that 230 wine samples from 24 countries are expected to compete, marking the widest geographic participation in the history of this annual competition.
A panel of around one hundred international judges will evaluate the wines. The group includes oenologists, sommeliers, specialized journalists, and technical experts from the wine industry. Their task will be to assess each wine using strict sensory criteria in a blind tasting format. The evaluation process follows a method validated by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), ensuring consistency and credibility in the results.
Muscats du Monde has become a key event for producers of Muscat wines, whether dry, sweet, or sparkling. The competition is recognized for its comparative tastings, which help identify and promote the best examples of this grape variety worldwide. Each year, the event publishes a “Top 10” list of standout wines, which serves as a reference for consumers and professionals interested in Muscat wines.
The choice of Frontignan as the venue highlights the region’s historical connection to Muscat production. Languedoc-Roussillon is one of France’s most important areas for this grape variety, and Frontignan has hosted previous editions of the competition. The event not only celebrates tradition but also encourages innovation and quality among producers from different continents.
Producers interested in participating can register until June 5, 2025, through the official website www.muscats-du-monde.com. The competition offers an opportunity for wineries to gain international recognition and reach new markets. For wine professionals and enthusiasts, Muscats du Monde provides insight into current trends and developments in Muscat winemaking across the globe.
