Dom Pérignon has announced a new collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, unveiling limited edition bottles for the 2025 End of Year season. The partnership brings together the historic champagne house and Murakami’s distinctive visual style, known for its colorful, cartoon-like flowers and playful motifs. The collaboration includes two special releases: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010, each featuring exclusive packaging designed by Murakami.
The creative process behind this project was led by Vincent Chaperon, Chef de Cave at Dom Pérignon, and Takashi Murakami. Both see their work as a meeting point between tradition and innovation. Chaperon describes the house’s approach to winemaking as rooted in heritage but always open to new interpretations. Murakami, whose art often blends elements of Japanese pop culture with fine art traditions, brings a similar philosophy to his designs.
For this collaboration, Murakami reimagined the classic Dom Pérignon shield and bottle with his signature floral characters. The packaging features dark backgrounds contrasted by vibrant, smiling flowers inspired by his Superflat aesthetic. These designs aim to create a sense of movement and energy while maintaining the elegance associated with Dom Pérignon. The boxes are designed to be modular, allowing collectors to arrange them together into a larger floral tableau.
The partnership is part of Dom Pérignon’s ongoing commitment to artistic exploration. Over the years, the house has worked with several contemporary artists to reinterpret its image and connect with new audiences. This latest project continues that tradition, blending the world of fine wine with contemporary art.
The limited edition Dom Pérignon x Takashi Murakami Vintage 2015 is priced at $315. The price for the Rosé Vintage 2010 edition is available upon request. Both editions will be available in select markets during the holiday season.
Collectors and enthusiasts can expect these bottles to become sought-after items, not only for their contents but also for their unique artistic value. The collaboration highlights how luxury brands are increasingly turning to artists to create new experiences around their products, merging craftsmanship with creativity in unexpected ways.
The launch comes at a time when demand for collectible wines and spirits remains strong worldwide. By partnering with an internationally recognized artist like Murakami, Dom Pérignon aims to reach both traditional champagne lovers and a younger audience interested in contemporary art and design.
The bottles will be released in time for end-of-year celebrations, offering consumers a chance to experience both the taste of Dom Pérignon and the visual world of Takashi Murakami in one package.
