The 26th edition of Muscats du Monde, the international competition devoted to Muscat wines, will take place July 8 and 9 in France, bringing together 230 entries from 24 countries and 100 expert tasters, according to organizers.
Registration for the 2026 event closes June 5, leaving producers a short window to submit samples for what the organizers describe as one of the largest gatherings focused on Muscat wines. The competition is organized around blind tastings by an international panel of specialists, with samples drawn from a wide range of regions where Muscat grapes are grown and vinified in different styles.
Muscats du Monde has built its reputation on breadth as much as on scale. The competition’s organizers say this year’s lineup reflects a geographic spread not previously reached in the event’s history, with wines coming from established European producers as well as countries farther afield. The format is designed to compare dry, sweet, sparkling and fortified expressions made from Muscat varieties, a family of grapes known for their aromatic profile and long history in Mediterranean wine regions.
The tasting sessions will be held over two days in France, where judges will evaluate the wines and award medals based on quality. For wineries, participation can offer visibility in export markets and among buyers who follow international competitions closely. For consumers, the results often serve as a guide to producers working with Muscat in styles that range from light and fresh to rich and dessert-oriented.
Organizers have opened registration materials online and are accepting sample submissions through the competition website. They are also inviting tasters to apply to join the judging panel, which includes professionals from different countries and wine sectors. The event comes at a time when interest in aromatic white wines has remained steady in several markets, even as producers continue to look for ways to distinguish their bottlings in a crowded category.
