Mendoza Unveils $20 Million Credit Line to Boost Bulk Wine Exports at 4.25% Interest

The government of Mendoza has announced a new financial initiative to support bulk wine exports. Through the Ministry of Production and the Ministry of Finance, a total of $20 million in credit will be made available for pre-financing bulk wine exports. The funds will be distributed via Banco Nación at an annual interest rate of 4.25 percent. The program is aimed at exporters whose main activity is the export of bulk wine, including those in the agricultural, agro-industrial, and wine sectors. Both companies and individual entrepreneurs, including cooperatives operating in Mendoza province, are eligible to apply.

Rodolfo Vargas Arizu, the Minister of Production, said that this credit line is a clear sign of economic recovery in Argentina. He emphasized that having a financing option tailored to one of the sectors that contributes most to the province’s gross product is positive news for the region. Vargas Arizu also highlighted that the competitive interest rate comes at a crucial time for expanding into new international markets.

According to information from the Ministry of Production, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can access up to $500,000 in financing, while large companies can apply for up to $1 million. The repayment period is capped at 180 days, with no extensions allowed during this timeframe.

Officials stated that the credit line will remain available until August 31 or until all allocated funds are used. The initiative aims to strengthen Mendoza’s position as a leading exporter of bulk wine and provide local producers with better tools to compete globally. The government expects this measure to help stabilize production levels and encourage further investment in the region’s wine industry. The announcement comes as Mendoza continues to seek new opportunities for its agricultural sector amid changing global market conditions.
