Yanjing’s U8 beer surpassed its 2025 sales total by September

Yanjing U8, a beer label from Beijing Yanjing Brewery, sold 934.1 million liters in China from January through September, up 30% from a year earlier, and that nine-month total already exceeded the brand’s volume for all of 2025, according to the company’s latest quarterly report.

The company said growth picked up in the third quarter. U8 volume rose 38% year over year in July through September, faster than the more than 25% growth Yanjing had reported for the first half. The filing did not give an absolute third-quarter liter figure in the reproduced excerpt, but the change in pace showed stronger momentum during the summer quarter, an important period for beer sales.

Based on the reported 30% increase for the first nine months, U8 added about 215.6 million liters from the same period last year. That calculation is approximate because the company disclosed the growth rate as a rounded number. The reported percentage implies U8 sold roughly 718.5 million liters in January through September of 2025.

The update came in a market where investors often have to rely on broad company revenue figures that combine several businesses. Beijing Yanjing Brewery reported consolidated revenue of 14.0159 billion yuan in the first nine months of 2026, but that figure covers beer and other food products. It should not be treated as revenue generated only by U8. The U8 volume data is significant because it gives a direct view of beer demand for one of the brewer’s best-known labels.

Yanjing is one of China’s established brewers, and the U8 brand has become a closely watched product within its portfolio. The company’s disclosure suggests that U8 is gaining share within Yanjing’s sales mix as the brewer tries to improve growth through branded products with national reach. Because the company reported the brand in liters rather than in yuan, the figures show physical sales growth without the effects of pricing, discounts, or changes in product mix across the rest of the group.

The company also said that the nine-month U8 volume had already surpassed the brand’s full-year 2025 total, although the reproduced passage did not state that earlier annual figure. That means the label moved past last year’s entire output before the final quarter of 2026, giving Yanjing additional room to extend the record in the last three months of the year if demand holds.

The figures were published in Beijing Yanjing Brewery’s third-quarter report and reproduced by Chinese financial website CFi on Oct. 27. The filing was unaudited, a standard caution for quarterly financial statements, and the reported rise in U8 volume should not be read as the growth rate for the whole company.
