Sicilia Outlet Village closed Calici al Village with its first Fashion Day

The second edition of “Calici al Village” ended Sunday at Sicilia Outlet Village in the Enna area, closing a three-week program built around Sicilian wine tastings and adding a new retail event, the first “Fashion Day,” to the final date.

According to a statement released Monday by the outlet’s press office, the event drew strong public participation across the three Sundays of programming. The series was organized in collaboration with WineSicily and was designed to bring together wine culture, entertainment and shopping at the shopping center.

The final day focused on Sicilian sparkling wines, following earlier weekends dedicated to white and red wines. Organizers said visitors were able to meet producers directly, learn about labels and grape varieties, and take part in guided tastings while music from a DJ set accompanied the event.

The main new element on the closing day was Fashion Day, a promotion involving participating brands at the outlet. Under the format, each brand offered a selection of three items at a 70% discount. Organizers said the promotion was supported by a digital catalog released in the days before the event so visitors could review the offers in advance and plan their shopping route through the boutiques.

The event reflects a broader strategy by Sicilia Outlet Village to expand beyond conventional retail activity and present itself as a leisure destination tied to food, wine and local products. That approach has become more common at outlet centers and large retail sites in Italy, where operators are increasingly using themed weekends, tastings and live entertainment to increase foot traffic and lengthen visitor stays.

No attendance figures were released in the statement, and organizers did not provide an economic estimate for sales linked to the initiative. They described the response to the final Sunday as especially strong because it combined the wine program with discounted fashion offers, bringing together two of the center’s main attractions in a single day.

Sicilia Outlet Village is one of the main retail destinations in central Sicily and regularly hosts events tied to seasonal shopping periods and regional promotion. With “Calici al Village,” the center placed a specific focus on Sicilian wine production, using the three-week format to separate the tastings by category and give space to different wineries and styles.

The closing event on Sunday marked the end of this year’s edition, but the format suggests the outlet intends to continue investing in events that mix commercial promotions with experiences linked to the surrounding territory and its producers.
