La Route du Champagne en fête returns to the Aube Valley on Aug. 1

La Route du Champagne en fête will return on Aug. 1 and 2 for its 31st edition in France’s Aube Valley, bringing two days of tastings, winery visits and public events to one of Champagne’s key growing areas.

According to La Revue du vin de France, this year’s route will take visitors along the right bank of the Aube Valley, from Argentolles to Bar-sur-Aube, with stops that include Colombey-les-Deux-Églises, Buchey and Saulcy. Local winegrowers are set to open their cellars and offer tastings of their bottles, continuing a format that has made the event a summer fixture in the region since the mid-1990s.

A tasting pass priced at €45 for both days will give participants one complimentary tasting at each participating estate. An accompanying wristband will cost €15. Organizers have also scheduled concerts, children’s face-painting stands, food trucks, vineyard walks, master classes and vintage car displays.

The event has been organized since 1995 by Cap’C, an association that represents the Champagne vineyards of the Côte des Bar, Montgueux and Villenauxe-la-Grande. Its stated aim is to promote the Champagne vineyard through events that allow the public to meet growers directly.

The gathering is centered in a part of Champagne that has worked for years to raise its profile alongside better-known areas closer to Reims and Épernay. By opening estates to visitors and pairing tastings with family activities and local food, the event gives smaller producers a direct sales channel at the height of the summer travel season. For the drinks business, that can matter beyond tourism: it offers independent Champagne houses a chance to build consumer recognition, strengthen cellar-door revenue and showcase regional styles in a market where visibility often favors larger brands.

The route also reflects how wine regions are increasingly using festival formats to attract broader audiences. In this case, the mix of tastings and entertainment is designed not only for committed wine drinkers but also for families and casual visitors who may be discovering the Aube Valley for the first time.
