Alexander Valley Launches Inaugural Wine Week Featuring Exclusive Vineyard Experiences

For the first time, Alexander Valley in Sonoma County is hosting Access Alexander Valley Wine Week, a new event that will run from September 22 to 28, 2025. The weeklong celebration invites visitors to experience the region’s vineyards, wineries, and farms through a series of immersive activities led by local families, growers, and winemakers. Organizers say this is the first event of its kind in the area, offering guests access to exclusive excursions and wine experiences that are not typically available to the public.

The event comes at a time when many wine producers in California are facing challenges with declining visitation and increased competition. Jessie Vallery, Marketing & Operations Director for Alexander Valley Winegrowers, said the event is designed to reconnect people with the land and the community behind the wines. “We are farmers, and for one week, we’re inviting you to experience the land we love in a way that’s never been offered before,” Vallery said. She noted that the event is not focused on sales but on sharing the lifestyle and stories of Alexander Valley.

Throughout the week, participating wineries will host a range of activities. Some experiences are complimentary, while others require reservations or have limited availability. Guests can join vineyard walks, bottle their own wine, attend food and wine pairings, take part in estate tours with garden brunches, hike through vineyards, or participate in cycling excursions followed by farm-to-table meals. Several events are capped at small groups to ensure an intimate experience.

Among the highlights are a vineyard walk and old vine field blend tasting at J. Rickards Winery; an estate tour with brunch at Alexander Valley Vineyards; a single vineyard tasting after a hike at Stuhlmuller Vineyards; and a blind tasting at Coppola Winery. Bedarra Vineyards is offering a “Pedal, Sip & Unwind” experience limited to just two guests per session. Other wineries such as Jordan Vineyard & Winery, Silver Oak, Ramazzotti Wines, Kelley & Young, ACTA Estate Winery, and Pine Mountain will also host special events throughout the week.

A signature event of Wine Week is an intimate winemaker dinner scheduled for Saturday evening at The Matheson Healdsburg. Five acclaimed winemakers from Alexander Valley will pour their estate wines alongside a four-course seasonal menu created by Chef Nate Davis. The dinner is limited to 40 guests and has already sold out.

Brigid Harris of Bedarra Vineyards expressed excitement about the event’s launch and the support it has received from both producers and consumers. “This event is so exciting and a breath of fresh air,” Harris said.

The list of participating wineries includes ACTA Estate Winery, Alexander Valley Vineyards, Bedarra Vineyards, Coppola Winery, Hawkes, J. Rickards Winery, Jordan Vineyard & Winery, Kelley & Young, La Cienega, Lampson Family Wines, Ramazzotti Wines, Robert Young Estate Winery, Silver Oak, Stuhlmuller Vineyards, Sutro Wine Co., and several producers from Pine Mountain.

Access Alexander Valley Wine Week is supported by sponsors including Peloton Photo, Stay Healdsburg, StaVin Tonnellerie Leroi.

While some events have already sold out due to high demand, organizers say same-day reservations may still be available during Wine Week. Visitors are encouraged to book in advance through the official website for full details on available experiences. The event aims to offer guests a rare opportunity to connect directly with the people who shape one of Sonoma County’s most renowned wine regions.
