Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury, part of the Beachcomber Hotels & Resorts group, is marking its 40th anniversary this year. Since opening in December 1985, the hotel has set a standard for luxury hospitality in Mauritius. It was the first hotel on the island to join the Leading Hotels of the World association, and today it continues to attract discerning travelers from around the globe. More than 60 percent of its guests are repeat visitors, a figure that highlights its enduring appeal.
In 2025, Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury has continued to receive international recognition. The resort was recently included again in the Forbes Travel Guide’s coveted list, maintaining its Five-Star rating for the second consecutive year. The anniversary celebrations will take place from October to December, with a series of special events designed to honor the hotel’s legacy and its connection to local culture.
From October 13 to 19, guests will be able to enjoy exclusive experiences at the resort. These include a sunset fashion show presented by Sloane Mauritius and a seaside “Royal Grill” dinner. One of the highlights will be a ten-hands dinner featuring chefs William Girard and Stéphane Baptiste alongside Michelin-starred chefs Richard Ekkebus, Michel de Matteis, and L’Étang. The week will close with a traditional Mauritian Night, complete with séga music performances.
The main event of the anniversary will take place on December 7, when the hotel hosts a gala under the stars. This evening will feature gourmet dining, an art auction, and the placement of a time capsule that will be opened on the hotel’s 50th anniversary. Proceeds from this event will go to the Espoir Développement Beachcomber Foundation (FED), supporting local community initiatives.
Throughout October’s themed week, spa masterclasses led by Valmont experts will be available for guests. Valmont has been a partner of Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury for four decades. In November, two new facial treatments—“Gentleman’s Awakening” and “Glaciers Vitality”—will be introduced, offering quick revitalization for guests seeking wellness experiences.
Earlier this year, Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury opened a new art gallery in partnership with Adamah Fine Arts. The gallery features works by 13 international and local artists, reinforcing the hotel’s commitment to cultural engagement. A new padel court was also added at the start of 2025 in response to growing interest in sports among guests.
The hotel continues its social responsibility program “Beautiful Local Hands,” which supports Mauritian artisans by facilitating direct sales of their crafts in hotel boutiques. This initiative aims to promote local talent and preserve traditional skills.
To commemorate its 40th anniversary, Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury is offering special packages for stays between July 1 and October 15, 2025. Guests can receive up to 35 percent off their stay, along with a complimentary signature massage and reiki session for bookings of at least six nights. Personalized gifts are also planned for guests celebrating their own 40th birthdays at the hotel. In addition, those turning 17 during their stay will receive invitations for future visits on their own milestone birthdays.
Patrice Landrein, general manager of Royal Palm Beachcomber Luxury, emphasized the significance of this anniversary: “Celebrating four decades represents a deep sense of pride. This milestone reflects our team’s passion and our guests’ loyalty. We remain committed to delivering exceptional experiences every time.”
