Maison Arnaud Boué Doubles Estate Size with New Vineyard Acquisition in Hautes-Côtes de Nuits

Burgundy wine producer Maison Arnaud Boué has expanded its vineyard holdings in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits region. The acquisition of 7.56 hectares nearly doubles the estate's size, adding plots with high potential. Arnaud Boué, the owner and winemaker, has been seeking additional land in this region since he first purchased the estate in 2018.

Boué's holdings now include the original 7 hectares near Villars-Fontaine, a few hectares in Nuits-Saint-Georges, and grapes purchased from select growers. The newly acquired plots, totaling 6.57 hectares, are located in Les Dames Huguettes, a cru of Hautes Côtes de Nuits. This area is known for its superior terroir, due to its plateau location overlooking Nuits St Georges, which offers good sun exposure and a unique climate for the vines, on hard limestone and marl soils.

Boué notes that the higher-altitude plots produce fruit with higher acidity, greater freshness, and lower alcohol potential. The remaining plots, totaling 0.86 hectares, are planted with Pinot Noir. This expansion aligns with a trend among producers in the region to invest in the Hautes–Côtes de Nuits for future production.

Before establishing his own maison in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Boué worked at leading wineries worldwide, including Château Gazin and producers in New Zealand. He then returned to his native Burgundy to work at several domaines, including Domaine David Duband and Domaine des Lambrays. His diverse experiences in both hemispheres have informed his approach to winemaking.
