Moët Hennessy Becomes Monaco Racing’s Official Partner

Moët Hennessy said on Wednesday that it had become the official partner of the Automobile Club de Monaco and its competitions in a multi-year agreement that places Moët & Chandon as the official champagne for the club’s marquee events.

The partnership links one of the world’s best-known luxury drinks groups with an institution that has shaped motor racing in Monaco for more than a century. Founded in 1890, the Automobile Club de Monaco organizes the Grand Prix de Monaco, the Rallye Monte-Carlo and the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique. The club said the agreement reflects its focus on tradition, innovation and high-end hospitality for members, guests and spectators.

Moët Hennessy said the deal will showcase its full portfolio at ACM events. The company, part of LVMH’s wines and spirits division, said the arrangement fits its long-term strategy of pairing heritage brands with major international sporting and cultural platforms.

Moët & Chandon’s role as official champagne gives the brand a visible place in the ceremonies tied to Monaco’s races, where champagne has long been part of victory celebrations. The company pointed to its history with motor racing and to Olivier Panis’s win in Monaco in 1996, which remains the last victory by a French driver on the circuit. This year marks the 30th anniversary of that race.

Jean-Jacques Guiony, president and chief executive of Moët Hennessy, said the Automobile Club de Monaco is “one of the most iconic stages in global motorsport” and called the partnership a natural step for the company. Michel Boeri, president of the Automobile Club de Monaco, said the agreement would help the club celebrate its events with “unparalleled elegance.”

Moët Hennessy said its wines and spirits division includes 27 houses, among them Dom Pérignon, Krug, Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Hennessy and Glenmorangie. The company also said it continues to promote its environmental and social program, Living Soils Living Together.

The Automobile Club de Monaco said it has more than 5,000 members worldwide and traces its origins to August 1890, when it was founded as Sport Vélocipédique Monégasque. The organization adopted its current name in 1925. Its first Monte-Carlo Rally was held in 1911, and its first Grand Prix Automobile de Monaco took place in 1929.
