The Napa County Farm Bureau Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2025 Aldo Delfino Memorial Scholarship. This opportunity is open to high school seniors in Napa County who plan to pursue a college degree in agriculture. The scholarship, established by the family of the late Aldo Delfino, Napa County's former Agricultural Commissioner, aims to honor his dedication to education and agriculture. Since its inception in 1981, the scholarship fund has grown with contributions from Napa County Farm Bureau members and supporters.
Aldo Delfino's legacy is marked by his commitment to education and his influence on Napa County's agricultural landscape. The scholarship seeks to support local students in their pursuit of agricultural studies, with the hope that they will return to Napa County and contribute to its esteemed agricultural industry. The Napa County Farm Bureau Foundation, in collaboration with the JLD Ag Preservation Fund, awards these scholarships to encourage the development of future agricultural leaders.
In the past three years, the foundation has awarded $70,000 in scholarships to students pursuing agriculture-related degrees. The scholarship covers fields such as crop science, viticulture, animal science, and environmental management. The foundation's goal is to ensure that the next generation of agricultural professionals is well-equipped to handle the sector's challenges and opportunities.
High school seniors from Napa County interested in applying should submit their applications by Friday, April 4, 2025. Application materials and instructions are available on the Napa County Farm Bureau website at www.napafarmbureau.org/foundation. The foundation's mission is to support the growth of future agricultural leaders who will uphold Napa County's reputation for excellence in agriculture. Through financial support and encouragement, the foundation hopes to inspire scholarship recipients to become influential figures in the agricultural community, continuing the legacy of Aldo Delfino and contributing to the region's rich agricultural heritage.
