REWE-FÜR SIE GVG said on Friday, November 6, that it had signed two more companies to join its beverage purchasing and marketing alliance on January 1, 2027, expanding the group to 36 partner businesses and extending its negotiating base to 1,777 specialty beverage stores in Germany.
The company said the new partners are Getränke Göbel of Neu-Ulm and Bierverlag Kessler of Losheim. Their addition follows the announcement in September that Bierverlag Kessler of Trier, Getränkeverlag Max Rössler of Berlin and Getränke Gröschke of Beeskow would also begin working with the group from January 1.
According to REWE-FÜR SIE GVG, Getränke Göbel brings 50 locations to the alliance, including 27 beverage specialty stores and 23 gas stations. The company said that mix of outlets broadens the network’s footprint and adds a partner with a wider sales structure than the traditional drink store format alone.
Bierverlag Kessler of Losheim, which the company described as the sister business of the Trier operation already announced in September, will add eight more beverage specialty stores in Saarland.
REWE-FÜR SIE GVG, a beverage marketing and purchasing company, said the combined effect of the two new additions will raise the number of partner companies in its network to 36 from January 1. It also said that the number of beverage specialty stores whose sales volumes have been mandated to the group for supplier negotiations will reach 1,777.
Niklas Müller, managing director of REWE-FÜR SIE GVG, said in a statement that the company had been able to win two more partners shortly after naming the three additions in September, which he said showed that the alliance’s marketing model was gaining support in the market.
He said Getränke Göbel and Bierverlag Kessler Losheim would strengthen the group with different location structures. He also said the company’s goal remained to expand the alliance’s market position, open up additional marketing potential and secure the best possible terms and lasting competitive advantages for partners by pooling their sales volumes.
The announcement points to continued consolidation in parts of Germany’s beverage retail and wholesale system, especially among specialist drink chains and distributors that rely on collective purchasing scale. By concentrating more store turnover in one negotiation structure, the alliance may be able to increase its leverage with breweries, wineries, spirits producers and other suppliers. That could matter across the beverage sector because stronger buying groups can influence pricing discussions, promotional support and product placement for a large network of stores.
The structure of the new additions also shows that the network is not limited to one type of retail outlet. Getränke Göbel’s 23 gas stations suggest that REWE-FÜR SIE GVG is also adding partners with a broader convenience and forecourt presence, not only stand-alone beverage stores. That could give the group a wider sales profile when it negotiates with producers and brand owners.
At the same time, the addition of Bierverlag Kessler of Losheim expands the group’s reach in Saarland, while the previously announced Trier partner adds another base in western Germany. Together with the earlier additions in Berlin and Beeskow, the latest growth extends the alliance across several regions and underlines a strategy of building national scale through locally established operators.
The company did not disclose financial terms for the new partnerships or provide projected purchasing volumes. It also did not say whether further additions are expected before January 1. But the figures released on Friday, November 6, show that the alliance is using partner growth as a central part of its strategy ahead of 2027.
For beverage producers and suppliers, the increase to 1,777 stores under one negotiation umbrella could mean that a larger share of specialist retail demand is being represented by a single organization. For retail partners, the model is designed to improve buying conditions and strengthen their position in a competitive market, according to the company.
