Franciacorta, the renowned Italian sparkling wine, played a prominent role at the 77th Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. For the fifth year in a row, Franciacorta was named the Official Sparkling Wine of the event, which was broadcast live by CBS. The Television Academy presented awards in 26 categories for the 2024-2025 television season. Leading the nominations were Severance with 27, The Penguin with 24, and both The White Lotus and The Studio with 23 each. Other notable series included thrillers like The Last of Us and Andor, as well as comedies such as The Bear and Only Murders in the Building. These shows highlighted television’s ongoing role as a space for innovation and global storytelling.

The ceremony featured several memorable moments. Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award, recognizing their contributions beyond acting. During the In Memoriam segment, Lainey Wilson and Vince Gill delivered a performance that resonated with many attendees.

Franciacorta began its Emmy celebrations on September 11 with an exclusive dinner at Angelini Osteria, a well-known Los Angeles restaurant. Chef Gino Angelini led the evening, offering guests a menu that showcased authentic Italian cuisine paired with Franciacorta wines. Throughout Emmy week, Franciacorta was present at all official events, bringing Italian style and tradition to one of television’s most visible international stages.

On the red carpet, Franciacorta was represented by three high-profile guests: Marta Pozzan, an Italo-American actress and content creator; Shanina Shaik, an international supermodel; and Jeannie Mai, a presenter known for her influence in fashion and entertainment. Their presence helped highlight Franciacorta’s Italian heritage and its growing reputation among global audiences.

Emanuele Rabotti, president of the Franciacorta Consortium, emphasized the significance of this partnership. He stated that being chosen as the Official Sparkling Wine at the Emmys reinforced Franciacorta’s commitment to representing Italian excellence on an international level.

The Franciacorta Consortium oversees production standards for this sparkling wine region. Established in 1990 and based in Erbusco, in the heart of Franciacorta, the Consortium ensures that all wines meet strict quality guidelines. Franciacorta was the first Italian sparkling wine made exclusively through bottle refermentation to receive the Protected and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG) status in 1995. The Consortium’s responsibilities include protecting its brand and region, promoting its products through regulations and consumer campaigns, and supporting Franciacorta as both a wine and a symbol of its territory.

With over 120 members under Rabotti’s leadership, the Consortium continues to expand Franciacorta’s presence worldwide. Its involvement in high-profile events like the Emmy Awards demonstrates how Italian wine producers are seeking new audiences while maintaining their traditions. This year’s Emmy celebrations offered another opportunity for Franciacorta to connect with international celebrities and viewers alike, reinforcing its image as a symbol of Italian craftsmanship on a global stage.
