Marqués de Cáceres ranked among Vivino’s 15 most consulted Spanish wine brands worldwide
The Rioja producer said consumers placed it fourth in the United States, France and Ireland, based on searches rather than sales volume

Marqués de Cáceres, the Rioja wine producer based in Cenicero, said in an October 2026 statement that it ranked among the 15 Spanish wine brands most consulted worldwide on Vivino, a widely used digital platform where consumers look up wines, compare labels and review product information before making purchases.
The company said the ranking reflects consumer interest in several key international markets rather than sales volume. According to the statement, Marqués de Cáceres placed fourth among Spanish wine brands most consulted on Vivino in the United States, France and Ireland. It also said it ranked sixth in the Netherlands, 14th in Canada, 18th in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and 19th in Mexico.
The figures point to a broad geographic spread for the brand at a time when digital platforms are playing a larger role in wine buying. Vivino is commonly used by consumers to scan bottles, check tasting notes, compare prices and read ratings, making it a useful measure of visibility and interest among buyers in different countries. While the company did not provide raw consultation data or a detailed methodology in the statement, it presented the results as evidence of sustained international attention.
For Spanish wineries, visibility on a platform such as Vivino can carry commercial weight. Consumers increasingly rely on phone-based tools during shopping, especially in export markets where brand familiarity may be lower and buying decisions are often influenced by digital reviews and quick product comparisons. A strong position on the app suggests that a brand is being actively considered by buyers, even if that does not directly translate into purchases.
Marqués de Cáceres linked the Vivino result to another international distinction. The winery said it was also included among the 25 most admired wine brands in the world in 2026 by Drinks International, a trade publication that is closely followed in the wine and spirits business. That recognition comes from industry professionals rather than consumers and measures a different type of standing, one tied more closely to reputation inside the trade.
Taken together, the two rankings show how the producer is trying to strengthen its position both with wine buyers and with professionals in the sector. One reflects consumer attention on a digital platform used in everyday purchase decisions. The other reflects brand prestige among importers, distributors, retailers, sommeliers and others working in the global wine business.
The winery was founded in 1970 by Enrique Forner and is now chaired by Cristina Forner. According to the company, its wines are sold in more than 140 countries. That international reach has long been central to the group’s identity, particularly as Rioja producers compete in a crowded global market where recognition abroad can be as important as standing at home.
The announcement also highlights the growing pressure on traditional wine companies to manage their digital presence with the same care they give to distribution and brand building. In many markets, a winery’s visibility on consumer apps and review platforms has become part of the competition for shelf space and buyer attention. For export-focused producers such as Marqués de Cáceres, rankings based on online consultation data offer one more measure of whether a label is staying visible in front of international consumers.
Marqués de Cáceres framed the Vivino placement as a sign that interest in Spanish wine remains strong across multiple countries and that established Rioja brands continue to attract attention in markets where consumers have a wide range of options. The company said the result supports its long-term international strategy and underscores its role as one of the more visible Spanish wine names outside Spain.
