Vinarchy, one of the world’s largest wine companies, will take direct control of its sales and distribution operations in Spain starting July 1, 2026. The company announced that it is creating its own commercial team in the country, ending its current distribution arrangement with Pernod Ricard España. This move is part of Vinarchy’s strategy to strengthen its position in the Spanish market and accelerate growth by managing its brands directly.
Vinarchy was established in 2025 following the merger of Accolade Wines and the former wine division of Pernod Ricard. The company has since become a global leader in the wine sector, with a broad portfolio of brands and a presence in multiple international markets. In Spain, Vinarchy’s portfolio includes well-known labels such as Campo Viejo, Azpilicueta, Alcorta, Ysios, and Tarsus. It also manages international brands like Jacob’s Creek and Hardys, which are central to its global growth plans.
The transition to a direct sales model is being managed to ensure continuity of service for clients and distributors. Vinarchy says this change will allow it to be closer to customers, speed up brand development, and support its long-term ambition to redefine the wine experience from grape to glass.
Aldo Barrios, general manager of Vinarchy in Spain, will lead the new commercial team. Barrios stated that this decision marks a new phase for the company in Spain. He emphasized that having a dedicated structure focused solely on wine will help Vinarchy better connect with the market and unlock the full potential of its brands.
Amanda Almond, regional general manager for Vinarchy in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), said that taking direct control in Spain aligns with Vinarchy’s international ambitions. She noted that this step reflects the company’s intention to compete with greater focus and agility.
The new organization is expected to be fully operational before summer 2026. This marks the beginning of what Vinarchy describes as a new stage of growth for its business in Spain.
Vinarchy’s name combines “Vin,” meaning wine in French, and “Archy,” from ancient Greek for leadership. The company produces wines in Australia, New Zealand, Spain, and South Africa, with additional operations in Italy, Argentina, France, the United States, and Chile. Its global portfolio is led by brands such as Hardys, Campo Viejo, and Jacob’s Creek.
In Spain, Vinarchy is recognized for producing quality wines and for its commitment to people, research, innovation, responsible consumption, and environmental respect. Its main wineries include Bodegas Campo Viejo, Bodegas Ysios, AGE (all located in Rioja), and Bodegas Tarsus (in Ribera del Duero). These wineries produce some of Spain’s most emblematic wines and reflect the diversity of Spanish viticulture.
Vinarchy aims to respond to changing consumer needs by introducing new formats and innovative products while creating experiences that bring wine closer to moments of celebration and connection. The company also positions itself as a place where passionate people can innovate and help shape the future of the wine industry.
