Two Major California Wineries Hit Market as Paso Robles Region Posts $2.8 Billion Economic Impact

Two well-known California wineries are now on the market, with Hilco Global and Onyx Asset Advisors accepting offers for Imagery Winery in Sonoma County and Rabbit Ridge Winery in Paso Robles. The properties are being offered separately, and interested buyers must submit bids by January 16, 2026.

Imagery Winery is located at 14335 Sonoma Highway 12 in Glen Ellen, about six miles north of Sonoma Square and roughly 50 miles from San Francisco. The property covers nearly 20 acres, with just under four acres planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. The site includes a production facility with barrel cellars, a crush and tank pad, and several hospitality spaces designed for tastings, private events, and outdoor gatherings. Amenities include picnic areas, patios, a bocce ball court, and an art gallery. The winery is licensed to produce up to 180,000 cases annually and has storage capacity for 250,000 gallons in jacketed tanks.

Sonoma Valley is recognized as the birthplace of California’s wine industry. The region stretches 17 miles between the Mayacamas and Sonoma Mountains and is home to many vineyard estates and small towns. In 2024, Sonoma County attracted more than 10.5 million visitors who spent $1.5 billion domestically. The area’s appeal includes its relaxed lifestyle, farm-to-table dining options, luxury accommodations, and outdoor recreation opportunities. Imagery Winery’s location near popular destinations like the historic Sonoma Plaza and Jack London House positions it well for continued tourism-driven business.

Rabbit Ridge Winery is located at 1172 San Marcos Road and Texas Road in Paso Robles. The offering consists of two parcels totaling about 310 acres. The San Marcos Road parcel covers 155 acres, with 93 acres planted to vineyards and seven acres dedicated to a modern gravity flow production facility that was previously licensed for annual production of up to 400,000 cases. The facility includes a recessed loading dock with leveler, crush pad, fermentation room, climate-controlled barrel warehouse, and a bottling facility with high ceilings. Recent upgrades to the water system have increased capacity to between 85 and 100 gallons per minute from two wells.

The adjacent Texas Road parcel adds another 155 acres, including 124 acres of fertile land suitable for further agricultural use or residential development. This gives potential buyers flexibility to expand vineyard operations or consider mixed-use projects.

Paso Robles’ central location provides access to both Northern and Southern California markets. The area has not been significantly affected by recent wildfires, which adds stability for investors. According to a Beacon Economics report in 2025, the Paso Robles American Viticultural Area (AVA) generated $2.8 billion in economic impact for California and drew about 2.5 million visitors annually. The region’s diverse soils and climate conditions support the production of premium wines.

Jamie Coté, director at Hilco Global’s real estate group, said that Sonoma Valley offers a blend of culture, hospitality, and history while Paso Robles represents growth and innovation in California wine country. Christian Koulichkov, also a director at Hilco Global, noted that these sales provide opportunities for vintners as well as investors or developers interested in repositioning assets in two strong wine markets.

On-site inspections for both properties are available by appointment from December 1 through December 19, 2025. Interested parties can review terms of sale on the Hilco Global Real Estate Sales website or contact representatives at Hilco Global or Onyx Asset Advisors for more information about the properties or sale process.

Hilco Global is based in Northbrook, Illinois and provides financial services across multiple sectors including real estate. Onyx Asset Advisors specializes in asset monetization strategies across various asset classes such as real estate and equipment. Both firms are working together on this offering to attract buyers looking to invest in California’s established wine industry.
