Diageo, a global leader in premium beverages, has named Eduardo Wanis as the new Chief Financial Officer for Southern Europe. He will report to Patrick Gantier, managing director for the region, and join the Executive Committee overseeing Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and Greece. Wanis brings extensive experience in financial leadership, with a strong commercial focus and an international career spanning Spain, the UK, the US, Latin America, and Japan.

Before joining Diageo, Wanis served as Vice President and CFO of the Japanese subsidiary of GSK, where he worked for over 13 years. During his tenure, he contributed to business development, financial strategy, and operational efficiency across various markets. He holds an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and began his career as a tax consultant at Deloitte. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Wanis is now based in Madrid.

Wanis replaces Alasdair Leggate, who held the role since October 2023 and has transitioned to a global position as director of Corporate Strategic Planning at Diageo. Patrick Gantier highlighted Wanis's leadership and experience as essential for strengthening the company's financial and commercial strategies in Southern Europe. He emphasized Diageo's commitment to the region and its pursuit of excellence.

Wanis expressed enthusiasm about his new role, praising Diageo's global leadership and established presence in international markets. He stated his confidence in working with the Southern Europe team to further advance the company's growth and success.
