Portuguese coach José Mourinho has launched his own brand of red wine under the name The Special One, a clear reference to the nickname he has carried since his time at Chelsea. The wine, made from hand-selected grapes from Portugal's Douro region, aims to reflect the character and roots of the Setúbal-born coach. Each bottle is priced at 120 euros.

The Douro, one of Portugal's oldest and most prestigious wine regions, was chosen by Mourinho as the production site for his wine. In the announcement shared on his social media platforms, the current Fenerbahçe coach highlighted his personal involvement in the project and the emotional connection to his homeland. He described the wine as "carefully selected in one of my favorite regions of Portugal" and said it represents "the spirit of my homeland and my constant desire to enjoy every moment of life."

In the promotional video, Mourinho referenced one of the most iconic phrases of his career, spoken during his presentation as Chelsea's manager in 2004: "I'm not one of the bottle. I make the bottle." These words inspired both the name and the marketing of the wine, which is positioned as an exclusive product designed for celebrations and special moments.

Mourinho's foray into the wine industry places him alongside a long list of celebrities who have ventured into this field, including actors, musicians, and sports figures. The coach has expressed his passion for wine on numerous occasions, a personal interest he has now turned into a business venture alongside his coaching career.

The launch of The Special One marks a new chapter for Mourinho, who seeks to convey through this wine his philosophy of excellence, attention to detail, and connection to his Portuguese roots. He describes the wine as "a gift from someone special for someone special," emphasizing his intention for it to be shared during meaningful moments with significant people.
