The eighth edition of Taste Alto Piemonte will take place on November 9 and 10, 2025, at the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées in Stresa, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. The event is organized by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte and brings together more than fifty wine producers from the region’s ten protected denominations, including Gattinara, Ghemme, Lessona, and Boca. The event aims to highlight the unique characteristics of Alto Piemonte’s wines, shaped by volcanic soils and diverse microclimates.
Taste Alto Piemonte is recognized as a key event for promoting the region’s winemaking heritage both within Italy and internationally. According to Andrea Fontana, president of the organizing consortium, the event is an important opportunity to showcase Alto Piemonte’s wines to audiences in Switzerland, Germany, France, and beyond. The program extends beyond the two main days in Stresa, with related activities taking place throughout November.
The event opens its doors on Sunday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and continues on Monday, November 10, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tasting tables will be available for press, trade professionals, and wine enthusiasts. Five masterclasses are scheduled: four focused on Alto Piemonte’s native grape varieties and one in collaboration with the Consorzio Tutela Vini del Sannio from southern Italy. This partnership aims to foster dialogue between northern and southern Italian wine regions.
A temporary wine shop will allow visitors to purchase wines featured at the tastings. Producers will be present at the tables to share their experiences and discuss the connection between their wines and the local landscape. Industry professionals can register online or on-site for free access to the tasting area.
This year’s edition also includes a series of initiatives designed to involve both locals and visitors across the region. From October 27 to November 9, Wine Weeks will take place in restaurants, osterias, wine bars, and shops across Novara, Vercelli, Biella, and Verbano-Cusio-Ossola provinces. During this period, Alto Piemonte wines will be available by the glass and featured on wine lists throughout these venues.
Collaborations with other sectors are part of this year’s expanded program. Travelers on the Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway’s Treno del Foliage can receive discounted admission to Taste Alto Piemonte by presenting their train ticket at the entrance. Participants in the Lago Maggiore Marathon will find a voucher in their race kit for free entry to the event on Sunday morning.
Taste Alto Piemonte is supported by several regional institutions including the Piedmont Region, Municipality of Stresa, Chamber of Commerce Monte Rosa Laghi Alto Piemonte, Distretto Turistico dei Laghi, and ATL Terre dell’Alto Piemonte (Novara office). Enartis is the main sponsor; La Stampa is serving as media partner. Technical partners include AIS Piemonte and several companies involved in wine production and regional promotion.
The event continues to strengthen ties between producers, communities, and landscapes in Northern Piedmont. It offers visitors a chance to experience not only the wines but also the culture and identity of Alto Piemonte through tastings, masterclasses, and collaborations that connect wine with tourism, sport, and nature.
