International producers and curated tastings highlight rapid growth and innovation in non-alcoholic and low-alcohol beverages at Düsseldorf event

ProWein Düsseldorf is preparing for its 2026 edition with a renewed focus on the growing No/Low alcohol segment. The trade fair, which has become a key event for the global wine and spirits industry, will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany. Organizers have announced an expanded ProWein Zero area in Hall 5, dedicated to non-alcoholic and low-alcohol products. This move reflects the increasing professionalism and innovation within the No/Low category.

The No/Low segment now features high-quality de-alcoholized wines, spirits, proxies, and fermentation-based alternatives. These products are gaining recognition for their unique flavor profiles and are being used more frequently in food pairings. Producers are investing in quality and stylistic development, treating these beverages as a distinct category rather than simply substitutes for traditional alcoholic drinks.

Frank Schindler, Director of ProWein Düsseldorf, emphasized that No/Low is not a passing trend but a significant market segment that requires careful attention. He stated that ProWein Zero aims to provide structure and guidance for both producers and visitors as the category continues to evolve.

This year, around 180 exhibitors will include non-alcoholic products in their portfolios at ProWein. More than 30 companies will be present directly within the ProWein Zero area in Hall 5, while an additional 60 brands will be featured at the Zero Tasting Bar. The event will showcase international producers from countries such as Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Norway, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, and Argentina. These participants will highlight advancements in technology, sensory experience, and creative concepts within the No/Low sector.

A new feature for 2026 is the integration of non-alcoholic spirits into ProWein Zero. This addition underscores the growing diversity within the category and responds to increased consumer interest in alternatives to traditional spirits.

The Zero Tasting Bar will serve as the central hub for visitors interested in exploring non-alcoholic still and sparkling wines as well as alcohol-free spirits. Developed in cooperation with Meininger Verlag publishers, the bar offers curated tastings led by experts. Visitors can engage with knowledgeable staff to discuss products and trends while participating in exclusive keynote and themed tastings that address current developments and international styles.

Felix Köhler of Meininger’s Competitions Team noted that the Zero Tasting Bar provides both producers and visitors with a professionally curated platform to access this dynamic market segment. The combination of tasting opportunities, digital bar menus, and visual displays is designed to guide attendees through the expanding world of No/Low beverages.

Several prominent brands will have individual stands within the ProWein Zero concept area. Companies such as Geiger, Kolonne Null, Flavologic, Henkell, Pierre Chavin, Neobulles, and LEA Winery will be present. In addition to these brands in Hall 5, international suppliers like Schloss Wachenheim, Les Grands Chais de France, Reh Kendermann, and Peter Mertes will continue to anchor ProWein’s non-alcoholic offerings in Hall 4.

ProWein Düsseldorf has hosted No/Low products for three years now. What began as a small experiment has grown into an internationally relevant segment with increasing participation from producers worldwide. The expanded focus on No/Low at ProWein 2026 demonstrates how quickly this market is developing and how seriously it is being taken by both industry professionals and consumers.
