The Sardinian event brings more than 60 wineries and 20 food companies to Costa Smeralda.

PORTO CERVO, Sardinia — The Porto Cervo Wine & Food Festival returns from May 7 to 10 with its 15th edition, bringing more than 60 wineries and more than 20 food companies to the heart of Costa Smeralda for four days of tastings, business meetings and public events aimed at opening the summer season in one of Italy’s best-known luxury destinations.

The festival is being organized by Marriott International, which manages the Hotel Cala di Volpe, the Cervo Hotel, the Pevero Golf Club and a group of bars and restaurants on behalf of Smeralda Holding. The event will take place at the Cervo Conference Center in Porto Cervo and will again combine trade-focused sessions for international buyers with days open to the public.

Among the wineries taking part are Argiolas, Bellavista, Cantina Santadi, Ca’ del Bosco, Sella & Mosca, Berlucchi, Capichera, Agripunica, Astoria Wines, Cantina Mesa, Bottega, Kettmeir, La Viarte, Donnafugata and Villa Franciacorta. Food exhibitors include Longino & Cardenal, Rocca La Bottarga, Salumificio Cocco, Niedditas, Peano, Mirto Sannai, Appennino Food Group, Pastificio Verrigni, Bonimeda and Accademia Olearia Tenute Fois.

The festival has grown into a meeting point for tourism operators, wine producers and food companies looking to discuss market trends and new developments in the sector. Organizers say the format is designed to mix lifestyle, business and luxury while giving producers direct access to buyers and consumers in a setting that has long been associated with international tourism.

The program also includes evening events outside the main fair area that are open to the public. Those gatherings will feature cocktails, music, dinners and DJ sets as part of a broader effort to turn the festival into a social event as well as a commercial one.

WineNews said it will be present at the festival with interviews with producers and industry figures focused on trends in luxury consumption.
