ProWein 2026 Expands ProSpirits Segment to Two Halls for Global Industry Showcase

2026-02-13

Organizers introduce new tasting bar and curated tours as event anticipates record participation from 500 exhibitors across 50 countries

ProWein Düsseldorf 2026 is preparing for a significant expansion of its spirits segment, ProSpirits, which will occupy two full halls for the first time. The event, scheduled from March 15 to 17, will bring together around 500 exhibitors from 50 countries in Halls 5 and 7. Organizers expect the expanded space to create a comprehensive showcase of the global spirits industry, featuring products ranging from aged whiskies and innovative gins to Chinese Baijiu.

A notable addition this year is the ProWein Zero Tasting Bar, dedicated to no and low alcohol spirits. This new feature reflects the growing interest in alternatives to traditional spirits and aims to highlight modern approaches and innovations in the category. The bar will offer tastings and insights into how these products are being repositioned in the market.

To help visitors navigate the extensive offerings, ProSpirits will introduce curated Trend Tours led by spirits expert Jürgen Deibel. These tours, held twice daily, are designed to provide context on current market developments, styles, and producers. Deibel emphasizes that these guided tours are intended to facilitate knowledge transfer and networking among professionals, supporting both education and appreciation of craft spirits.

For members of the media, two exclusive press tours will be available during the event. Due to limited capacity, early registration is recommended for journalists interested in participating.

Education remains a central focus at ProSpirits 2026. The Spirits Business will curate a program on a dedicated stage in Hall 7, featuring panel discussions on key industry topics such as market trends, technology, distribution, and consumer behavior. Melita Kiely, editor-in-chief of The Spirits Business, will moderate sessions with speakers including Prof. Dr. Simone Loose, author of the ProWein Business Report & ProSpirits Report; Ian Somerhalder of Brother’s Bond; and representatives from brands like Choya Umeshu, San Cosme Mezcal, Origen X, Thomas Henry, and MG Distillery.

The education program will also include spirits tastings, cocktail masterclasses, and presentations from leading bartenders. Organizers say they plan to address pressing issues such as Gen-Z consumption habits and geopolitical challenges affecting the industry.

ProSpirits 2026 is positioning itself as a must-attend event for bartenders, mixologists, retailers, and other professionals in the spirits trade. The event aims to foster inspiration and business opportunities through direct engagement with producers and experts.

In preparation for the event, an industry-wide survey is underway for the ProSpirits Business Report 2026. The survey seeks input from professionals across production, distribution, retail, and food service sectors to assess current trends and future challenges. The resulting report is expected to serve as a key resource for understanding sentiment and direction within the global spirits industry.

With its expanded format and new features, ProSpirits at ProWein Düsseldorf 2026 is set to become a central meeting point for the international spirits community this March.
