Global beverage giant accelerates digital transformation and streamlines operations under EverGreen 2030 strategy for greater agility and growth.

Heineken has announced a major restructuring of its global headquarters in Amsterdam as part of its new five-year strategy, EverGreen 2030. The company said the changes are aimed at creating a more agile, simplified, and connected organization that can better focus on growth and innovation opportunities. The announcement was made this week from the company’s headquarters in the Netherlands.

The EverGreen 2030 plan puts technology and organizational agility at the center of Heineken’s growth strategy. As part of this approach, Heineken is expanding the rollout of its Digital Backbone (DBB), a multi-year program that is transforming how the company operates across more than 70 markets worldwide. The DBB integrates over 40 digital platforms, which will simplify processes, unlock data capabilities, and enable faster innovation. According to Heineken, this will strengthen its ability to respond quickly and efficiently to changing consumer trends and market shifts.

To support these ambitions, Heineken is also redesigning its organizational structure. The company will accelerate the expansion of Heineken Business Services (HBS), establishing global capability centers that leverage new technologies. This shift is intended to allow local businesses to focus more on execution and customer engagement, while centralizing certain functions for greater efficiency.

Starting in 2026, Heineken’s Amsterdam headquarters will be transformed into a more focused strategic center. The restructuring will involve transferring some roles to HBS and redesigning selected departments. Approximately 400 positions will be affected by these changes, in addition to about 200 roles in the Digital and Technology department that have been undergoing transformation since October 2024. The company said the changes will involve a combination of relocating positions to HBS and eliminating some roles altogether.

Heineken stated that by reducing complexity and streamlining decision-making, it aims to operate with greater impact, empower its teams, and position itself to seize growth opportunities more decisively. Dolf Van Den Brink, CEO of Heineken, commented on the announcement: “The world around us is changing rapidly. Geopolitical and economic pressures are real, but so are the opportunities created by technology and shifting consumer trends. To stay ahead, we must accelerate our digital transformation and focus on market success. We recognize the impact these changes may have on our employees and are committed to supporting them with care and respect during this transition.”

The company emphasized that with EverGreen 2030, it is taking a decisive step toward becoming a stronger, more agile organization prepared for future challenges and opportunities in the global beverage industry.
