The Amsterdam Wine Festival is preparing for a sold-out Saturday as only 150 tickets remain for the event’s busiest day. The festival will take place from March 26 to March 29, 2026, at the Kromhouthal in Amsterdam North. Organizers expect a large turnout, with hundreds of wines available for tasting, live music, and food pairings designed to complement the wines.
This year’s edition focuses on wines from the Southern Hemisphere, featuring selections from Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses and sample wines from both well-known producers and emerging wineries. The festival aims to offer visitors a chance to discover new flavors and learn more about wine culture in a relaxed setting.
A highlight of the event is the “Kelderschattenbar,” where guests can taste iconic wines such as Seña from Chile, Wynns Coonawarra Estate from Australia, and Meerlust from South Africa. These wines are recognized for their quality and history in their respective regions. The bar also features Redheads and other notable labels that showcase the diversity of Southern Hemisphere winemaking.
New Zealand’s Misty Cove will make its debut at the festival this year. Founded by Andrew Bailey and his Dutch wife Marieke, Misty Cove is known for producing clean, distinctive wines from Marlborough and Central Otago. The winery emphasizes sustainability and aims to reflect New Zealand’s rugged landscape in its products.
South African wines will be represented by Vinimark, which brings brands like Wildeberg from Franschhoek and Perdeberg’s dry-land Chenin Blancs. These selections highlight the unique terroir of South Africa’s wine regions and their historical significance.
Tickets for Saturday are priced at €18.50 instead of the regular €25, but availability is limited as demand increases. The festival encourages early purchase to avoid missing out on what is expected to be a sold-out day.
The Amsterdam Wine Festival has become a key event for wine enthusiasts in the Netherlands and beyond. Its focus on education, discovery, and enjoyment attracts both industry professionals and casual visitors. With its international selection of wines and emphasis on pairing with food and music, the festival continues to grow in popularity each year.
Organizers recommend checking the official website for ticket availability and further details about participating wineries and scheduled activities. The Kromhouthal venue offers ample space for tastings, workshops, and socializing, making it an ideal location for an event of this scale. As anticipation builds for this year’s edition, the remaining tickets are expected to sell quickly.
