Over 50 producers to present new vintages and native grape varieties at the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées in November 2025

The Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées on Lake Maggiore will host the eighth edition of Taste Alto Piemonte, a major event dedicated to the wines of the Upper Piedmont region. The event, organized by the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte, is scheduled for November 9 and 10, 2025. It will bring together more than 50 producers from across the area to present new vintages and showcase the region’s ten protected denominations.

Taste Alto Piemonte has become a key date for wine professionals, journalists, and enthusiasts interested in the unique wines produced between the Alps and Lake Maggiore. The event aims to promote the territory’s native grape varieties, with Nebbiolo taking center stage alongside Vespolina, Croatina, and Uva Rara. These grapes are used in wines from Boca DOC, Bramaterra DOC, Colline Novaresi DOC, Coste della Sesia DOC, Fara DOC, Gattinara DOCG, Ghemme DOCG, Lessona DOC, Sizzano DOC, and Valli Ossolane DOC.

Andrea Fontana, president of the Consorzio Tutela Nebbioli Alto Piemonte, emphasized that Taste Alto Piemonte is an important opportunity to promote both the region and its denominations not only within Italy but also in neighboring countries such as Switzerland. He thanked local institutions for their continued support since the event’s first edition.

Lorella Zoppis, vice president of the consortium, highlighted that bringing Taste Alto Piemonte to Lake Maggiore signals a growing engagement with an international audience. She described the event as more than just a tasting; it is an experience that connects producers, professionals, and wine lovers.

The program will begin on Sunday, November 9 at 11 a.m., with tasting tables open until 8 p.m. The event continues on Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Both days are open to members of the press as well as industry professionals and wine enthusiasts. Four masterclasses organized by AIS Piemonte will offer deeper exploration into the different denominations and characteristics of Nebbiolo from Upper Piedmont.

A temporary wine shop will allow visitors to purchase bottles featured at the event. There will also be a press room for accredited journalists and spaces dedicated to sharing stories about producers and their connection to the land.

Taste Alto Piemonte has established itself as a reference point for those interested in Italian wine culture. The event highlights how volcanic soils and a unique microclimate contribute to wines known for their elegance and authenticity. Organizers hope that this year’s edition will further strengthen ties within the region and beyond its borders.
