The Amsterdam Wine Festival is set to welcome spring 2025 with a special anniversary edition. Celebrating its eighth year, the festival will take place over two weekends for the first time. The event is scheduled from March 28 to 30 and April 4 to 6 at a new venue, the iconic Markthal in Amsterdam. Attendees can explore over 200 wines from countries like Chile, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
For those planning to attend with friends, there's a special offer: buy five tickets for the price of four. This deal is perfect for the person who usually organizes group outings. However, group tickets are limited, so it's best to act quickly.
Several renowned wineries from the Southern Hemisphere will be featured. Bodegas Salentein from Argentina, located at the foot of the Andes, is known for producing high-quality wines. Their vineyards, situated at altitudes up to 1,700 meters, yield elegant and aromatic wines, including refined Pinot Noir and characterful Chardonnay.
Intipalka from Peru offers premium wines from the Ica Valley, also at the foot of the Andes. Their vineyards, at 500 meters above sea level, benefit from a unique desert microclimate. This combination of tradition, innovation, and Peruvian pride results in award-winning wines with character and finesse.
Uruguay's Bodega Stagnari showcases the strength of Uruguayan wines. Their vineyards thrive in the dry, mineral-rich soils of the stone desert, producing intense and elegant wines. Stagnari proudly contributes to Uruguay's growing recognition as a top wine-producing country.
Santa Rita from Chile has been blending the best of France and Chile since 1880. With vineyards in prime regions, Santa Rita offers a wide range of quality wines, from accessible favorites to premium Cabernet Sauvignon. Their commitment to sustainability, innovation, and tradition has made Santa Rita an icon in the wine world.
Australia's Yalumba, the oldest family-owned winery in the country, has been combining tradition and innovation since 1849. With vineyards in iconic regions like Barossa and Coonawarra, Yalumba creates award-winning wines, from powerful Shiraz to refined Riesling. Their passion and craftsmanship are evident in these unique Australian wines.
The festival will feature over 300 wines to taste and discover during the Southern Hemisphere harvest celebrations. Attendees can also participate in tastings and masterclasses to learn more about their favorite wine regions. Each workshop includes tasting four delightful glasses.
Gastronomy is an essential part of the festival experience. With over 50 dishes available, there will be plenty of delicious food to enjoy alongside the wine. The event will also feature live bands and DJs, providing entertainment throughout the day and into the evening.
For those who want to test their wine knowledge, there will be opportunities to win a bottle of wine by answering questions about Southern Hemisphere wine regions. Additionally, attendees can challenge their friends in a grape-stomping competition, with the chance to become the Dutch Champion of grape stomping.
Overall, the Amsterdam Wine Festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of wine, food, and music, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
